Your engagement session is more than just a photoshoot — it’s a chance to slow down, be yourselves, and enjoy a beautiful moment together. It’s also the perfect warm-up before the big day, giving us time to connect, explore creative ideas, and capture timeless images that reflect your unique story.
To help you prepare, here are a few key things to keep in mind:
TIME
1 hour is perfect for a single location with the option for a quick outfit change.
2 hours is ideal if you’d like two locations or a more relaxed pace with time for travel and styling.
We typically begin about 1–2 hours before sunset, when the light is soft and golden—perfect for natural, glowing portraits.
LOCATION
We recommend choosing one or two main locations that inspire you—whether it’s the beach, a quiet hiking trail, a stylish urban corner, or even a meaningful spot that holds personal memories.
Think beyond landmarks. The best images often come from places where you feel relaxed and free to be yourselves. We’ll make the most of the setting and create a wide variety of beautiful, editorial-style shots around it.
OUTFITS & PROPS
A good rule of thumb: slightly overdressed looks great on camera. But the most important thing is that you feel confident and true to your personal style.
Choose 1–2 timeless, coordinated outfits that photograph well together.
Neutrals, soft tones, or classic colors always work beautifully.
Feel free to bring outfit options—we’re happy to help match them to the locations.
Props are totally optional, but they can add personality and a playful, unique element to your session. Whether it’s a picnic setup, champagne flutes, or something totally you—we’re here for it.
WHEN TO SCHEDULE
Whenever possible, we suggest scheduling your session on a weekday, when locations are quieter and parking is easier. It makes everything feel more relaxed—and allows us to give you the best experience possible.
WEATHER & RESCHEDULING
If you’d prefer sunshine, let’s keep an eye on the forecast together. We’re happy to reschedule for better conditions—just let us know at least 48 hours in advance if the weather isn’t cooperating. We’re always flexible and here to make it work for you.
BRINGING YOUR PET? WE’D LOVE THAT! 🐾
Pets are family—and they’re more than welcome to join your engagement session!
If you’re planning to include your dog (or any other pet), here are a few tips to help things run smoothly:
Bring a helper: We recommend having a friend or family member come along to handle your pet during the photos you're not including them in. This keeps the flow easy and relaxed and lets you focus on each other when needed.
Pack the essentials: Don’t forget treats, waste bags, a leash or harness, and maybe a favorite toy to get their attention. We’ll help you get the best angles and sweet candid moments with your furry friend.
Timing matters: If we’re shooting at more than one location, we suggest including your pet in just the first part of the session. That way, they can head home with your helper while we continue with more couple-focused portraits.
If you have any questions or fun ideas you'd like to explore, we’d love to hear them. We're excited to capture some unforgettable moments!
Warmly,
