Your big day is finally here! You found the one who your soul loves and you're preparing in those final hours. There is nothing more special than getting ready for your love with the most important people in your life. It's a beautiful and magical time. To help you feel excited, stress-free, and absolutely gorgeous, take a look at these tips below:
Bring a copy of the makeup timeline
There is so much going on the morning of your wedding and having a copy of your timeline in hand will be one less thing to stress about. Now sit down, grab a mimosa, and get ready to be pampered!
Come prepared
Have your face washed, your teeth brushed, and your eyelashes curled. Your makeup artist will prep your skin for makeup but if you have a preferred moisturizer, apply that prior to your makeup application. Also, if you have a favorite product that you love and want to wear, bring it along! Have your maid of honor pack your clutch or purse with a touch up powder and lipgloss or lipstick.
Have a cushion
On average, it can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour per makeup application. Although experienced makeup artists can usually complete the makeup application within 45 minutes, it's best to book yourself one hour to prepare for any un-expected events. Consider that your makeup artist will need to clean brushes in between each application so just make sure to allow a decent amount of time to get dolled up!
Talk to your photographer
Let your photographer know what time you will be starting your makeup application and what time you plan on finishing. Your photographer can then plan to catch all of the action shots or finishing touches!
Trust your makeup artist's professional recommendation
A good makeup artist will listen to you, enhance your own beauty and will also make recommendations as it pertains to the integrity of your makeup. On weddings there is so much going on; photos being taken, uplighting, down lighting, natural light, evening shots, and the list goes on and on. To ensure that your photos come out great, it may be best to wear a little bit more makeup than normal and your M.U.A can do this while not making it look or feel "heavy". Have the conversation during your trial, come up with a plan, and you will be stress free the day of.
And there you have it! Follow the tips above and you will be prepared. If you have questions, concerns, or have anything else you want to discuss with your makeup artist, make sure to do so prior to the day of.
